Investigating the Role of Gut Microbiota in Feline Diabetes Mellitus and Hypersomatotropism

We are looking for PhD student for this extremely exciting and well-supported project here at the RVC, starting in October 2020. The project will characterise the gut microbiome of cats with Type 2-like and hypersomatotropism-associated diabetes and assess how changes in diabetic control affect both the microbiome and metabolome. This is a chance to carry out some really novel work using advanced high throughput sequencing and metabolomic techniques, and to be involved in our feline acromegaly/hypophysectomy programme.
